  习近平主席将于4月14日至18日对越南、马来西亚、柬埔寨进行国事访问。

  China and Southeast Asian countries are good neighbors, sharing mountains and rivers. They also have similar cultures. In addition, their food cultures have many similarities.

  With the support of stone mills, farming tools, and various cooking techniques such as steaming and boiling, rice and rice-farming culture in southern China have spread to a broader area. Additionally, a variety of rice-based dishes with different shapes, textures, and flavors have been created. Rice noodles, in particular, stand out as one of the most unique foods.

Bun

Bun(越南米线)

  Bun (Vietnamese rice noodles) is a beloved daily dish in Vietnam. This traditional food, made mainly from rice, is deeply rooted in the country’s time-honored rice-farming civilization.

  Bun(越南米线)是越南人钟爱的日常佳肴,这种以大米为主料的传统饮食,深深扎根于越南悠久的稻作文明。

  Feng Juan, who grew up in a family of overseas Vietnamese, introduced Vietnamese barbecue noodles to the menu of a small restaurant. This dish attracts food lovers from around the world and helps ease the homesickness in the hearts of Vietnamese.

叻沙(马来西亚米粉)

  In a foreign country, Muhamad Akmal, Consul-General of Malaysia in Kunming, often reminisces about the bowl of laksa (Malaysian rice noodles) from his hometown.

  身在异国他乡,马来西亚驻昆明总领事穆罕默德·阿克玛,时常回味家乡的那碗叻沙(马来西亚米粉)。

  With its rich coconut flavor, fresh and hot soup base, thick shrimp paste, cool Cymbopogon, and all kinds of ingredients, it embodies the pure essence of Malaysian cuisine.

(柬埔寨一种米粉)

  The restaurant of Orussey Kuy Teav (a kind of rice noodles in Cambodia), located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, has a history of over 40 years. It draws a steady stream of diners every day.

  位于柬埔寨金边的乌亚西粿条(柬埔寨的一种米粉)店已有40多年历史,每天食客络绎不绝。

  The Kuy Teav, originating from the Chaozhou-Shantou region of China, are mixed with rich local Cambodian ingredients to create a unique bowl of Cambodian rice noodles.

  一碗柬埔寨粿条里,糅合了源自中国潮汕地区的米粉制作工艺以及丰富的柬埔寨本地食材。

  The collision and fusion of these flavors represent the infinite culinary wisdom of people from both countries. Each mouthful embodies the deep and lasting friendship between China and Cambodia, hidden within the boiling soup base.
