Qujing estimated to have received 7.74 million visitors in two months

From June to July this year, east Yunnan’s Qujing city is estimated to have received 7.7436 million visitor trips, and have generated a tourism expenditure of 7.206 billion yuan, according to a local press conference on August 14.

Nanmen Square in the city recorded over 50,000 daily visits, with foot traffic rivaling that of traditional popular scenic spots in the province.

Qujing has been listed as a summer-friendly destination in China and a national top 10 summer retreat, making it an important part in Yunnan's summer slow-travel landscape.

The city has pooled 115,000 sojourn housing units, launched an online housing inquiry portal to facilitate room selection and check-in for visitors.

At the same time, it has revitalized idle rural resources, built 66 standardized rural sojourning sites, and cultivated diversified accommodation formats to meet the housing needs of different groups.

The city's 43 A-level scenic spots have jointly launched the "Qujing Tourist Pass," which reduces travel costs through free admission and exclusive discounts.

It has rolled out six themed routes. During major sporting events, Qujing opened special routes, creating diversified tourist products.

Since the beginning of this year, the city has hosted a total of 392 cultural, sports, tourism, and commercial events, including 137 large-scale events with over 1,000 participants.
