Makhdoom Babar: AI mustn’t be used as shortcut to fake news

“Mainstream media should issue warnings to their reporters and avoid enhancing their reports by suing AI-generated fake graphics,” said Makhdoom Babar, Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan's Daily Mail. Makhdoom said this during the recent 2026 South and Southeast Asian Media Network (SSAMN) Annual Meeting in central Yunnan’s Kunming city. He added that western media have long used fake AI videos and graphics against China.
