Prak Maomolin: We needn’t worry about AI replacing humans

Prak Maomolin, Director of the Foreign Language Department of the National Television of Cambodia, said in an interview with a Mekong News Network reporter that we once worried that artificial intelligence (AI) would replace humans, but in reality, the opposite is true. Prak said this at the South and Southeast Asian Media Network Annual Meeting 2026 that took place in central Yunnan’s Kunming city on July 14, right before the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance in Shanghai. He added AI is a human assistant that can help with media creation and streamline daily work, but the responsibility for verifying facts and ensuring accuracy still rests on human brains.
