Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is heading the Iranian delegation in the talks on Sunday, whereas the American team is led by US Vice President JD Vance
Before the Iran-US meeting, Ghalibaf met and discussed separately with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, as well as Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as mediators of the negotiation process.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also met with his Swiss counterpart, Ignazio Cassis, before the talks began.
The Iranian delegation also includes Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Bagheri Kani, Deputy Foreign Minister of Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi, Central Bank of Iran Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, Hamid Bovard, and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei.
US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff have been accompanying Vance in the talks with Iran.
