Yunnan sits nearest to the Indian Ocean among Chinese provinces, and it enjoys a uniquely advantageous location, said Mao Keji, Deputy Research Fellow and head of the Strategic Research Division at the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission.
Mao said this during the on-going 10th China-South Asia Exposition (CSAE) and the 30th China Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair, adding Yunnan has built a distinctive industrial system by leveraging its geographical endowments.
He noted that the CSAE continues to activate Yunnan's geo-strategic value, fully unleashing its irreplaceable role as a bridge connecting the Chinese and South Asian markets.
