In Yunlong, west Yunnan’s Dali Bai autonomous prefecture, the suona musical instrument is a "code of joy" for local Bai ethnic folks. The unique instrument produces a bright and resounding tune.
The folks may play the instrument in front of houses, behind courtyards, or in the fields. The moment the suona sounds, the villagers know good news is coming.
