Following the Spring Festival holiday that lasted from February 15 to 23, Yunnan province has offered free rides and heart-warming gifts to migrant workers who are heading for Shanghai, Guangdong and other coastal areas.

A seeing-off event is held in Kunming city for migrant workers on Feb. 25.

Central Yunnan’s Kunming city rolled out Feb. 25 special trains to Shanghai and Guangzhou for 500 migrant workers. Among them is Zhao Guangfan, a migrant worker from Kunming’s Xundian county. Zhao set off for Guangzhou with his wife and two children.

"I've been working in Guangzhou for ten years. Every year after the Spring Festival, the government arranges special trains to send us back to work, and we don’t even have to worry about tickets. I’m truly grateful," Zhao said with a smile.

Zhao met his wife while working in Guangzhou, and now their two children—the daughter in Grade one and the son in kindergarten—are growing up. With him working hard and his wife taking care of the kids, their life is getting better.

Southeast Yunnan’s Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture saw off 400 workers returning to Guangdong at Funing Railway Station on February 24.
