A cup of coffee connects Yunnan with the world
The “Harbors Tonight” China-Singapore Youth Dialogue was held in Singapore on February 12. Journalists, business elites and youth representatives from China and Singapore engaged in discussions on Yunnan coffee and global trade.

Yunnan's coffee plantation area has reached 1.46 million Chinese acre, with an annual output accounting for over 98% of China's total. In 2025, Yunnan exported 19,000 tons of coffee, ranking first among all Chinese provinces. Over 40% of China's coffee exports come from Yunnan.
Gable, a Singaporean who works for the Pu'er Tianchen Coffee Company in southwest Yunnan, once tasted 400 cups of coffee in a single day. Gable's efforts aim to transform "good taste" into a standard and turning "Yunnan coffee" into a global language.

In this way, Yunnan coffee could be better appreciated on the international stage. Gable said that his friends in Singapore are very interested in Pu'er coffee plantations, and he looks forward to encountering more surprises in Pu'er, a city filled with coffee aroma.
Liu Haifeng, General Manager of Pu'er Coffee Industry Development Co., Ltd., has been in the coffee business for 11 years. Liu recalled that years ago when he visited Shanghai, finding a cup of Yunnan coffee was difficult. Today, prominent "Yunnan Coffee" signs can be seen in coffee shops everywhere.

During this trip to Singapore, he encountered a coffee from Pu'er Lancang in a local specialty coffee shop. Liu said that a small coffee bean nurtures a big dream in global trade. His dream is to be a representative of Yunnan coffee and to be a pride for Yunnan coffee itself.
At the Singapore event, a Lancang-Mekong coffee was brewed out of beans from coffee-growing regions within river basin, including Pu'er in China, Mondulkiri in Cambodia, the Bolaven Plateau in Laos, Shan State in Myanmar, Chiang Mai in Thailand and Da Lat in Vietnam.

A Yunnan coffee links up the six Lancang-Mekong countries and bridges the geographically distance between China and Singapore. Ultimately, Yunnan coffee will reach out to the wider world, and it will be favored by global consumers.
