China-Vietnam Spring Festival Gala held in Hekou, Lao Cai

Hosts kick off the China-Vietnam Spring Festival Gala.
The 2026 China-Vietnam International Spring Festival Gala and Cross-Border Friendship Event took place in south Yunnan’s Hekou Yao autonomous county and north Vietnam’s Lao Cai province from February 2 to 3.
Programs blending Chinese and Vietnamese cultural elements, such as "Celebrating the Lunar New Year," "The Beauty of Yao Mountain," and "Call of the Drums," were staged one after another. The atmosphere was lively, with applause and cheers echoing throughout the venue.

The event also featured meetings among media representatives, discussions among young entrepreneurs, and a trade fair showcasing Chinese and Vietnamese specialties for the lunar new year.
This gala was jointly organized by the Yunnan Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the People’s Government of Honghe Prefecture, the People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province, and the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming.

It aims to boost cooperation in the Honghe River basin and promote connectivity, economic and trade exchanges, and cultural interactions.
To date, China and Vietnam have hosted seven editions of the gala. The event has become an important bridge for friendly exchanges and deeper bonds between the two countries.
