Marigold flowers enrich villagers in Lijiang
An overview of the Longshan village in Jin'an town, northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang city
Farmers in the Longshan village of Jin'an town, northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang city, are busy harvesting the marigold flowers these days.
In 2025, the Longshan villagers in 240 households grew over 1,200 mu (80 hectares) of marigold, and the total revenue is expected to exceed 5 million yuan, increasing local farmers' income.

"This year, my family planted 6 mu of marigold. Each is estimated to yield an income of 3,000 to 4,000 yuan," said He Liangxin, a Longshan villager.
Longshan began marigold cultivation in 2016. Compared to traditional crops, the marigold features a shorter growth cycle, a higher yield, and more economic returns.
