Young Chinese Laotians visit Pu'er for cultural experience

44 Chinese Laotian teachers and students on the 2nd "Pu'er Study Tour" visited the Ethnic Middle School in southwest Yunnan's Pu'er city on July 1.

Laotian teachers and students from Phongsaly province visit the Ethnic Middle School in southwest Yunnan's Pu'er city on July 1.

At the school, they engaged in immersive experiences of traditional Chinese culture, such as making glutinous rice dumplings, singing, paper-cutting and calligraphy. They joined their Pu'er peers for a group dance of unity.

The young Chinese Laotians also visited Pu'er City Museum and Pu'er Urban Planning & Sci-tech Museum, deepening their understanding of Chinese culture.

Phongsaly province in north Laos has a Chinese Laotian community, most of whose ancestors came from Yunnan province. They still celebrate Chinese festivals like Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival.
