Deep in Qujing: Spring festival buzz in Tuguachong village

In recent years, Qujing has been developing its residential tourism industry, transforming villages like Malong distrcit’s Tuguachong into picturesque destinations ideal for both living and leisure. These scenic spots have drawn visitors from China’s first-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

During the Spring Festival, Tuguachong was alive with activity. Visitors strolled through the village, took scenic train rides through vibrant flower fields, and enjoyed a lively mix of food stalls and festive performances.

“We organized fun activities like a chicken-catching contest, outdoor karaoke, and poker tournaments at the village square, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the festive spirit,” said Dou Zhenqi, a local official.

Yuan Yun, the owner of a bakery in Tuguachong, shared, “Since opening last June, we've welcomed countless visitors, from summer vacationers to sightseeing tourists. This Spring Festival, business has soared, with revenue several times higher than usual.”

  

With its stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural charm, Tuguachong is embracing a new era of growth, driven by the booming residential tourism industry.
