Jianchuan county, sitting in northern Dali, is widely known for its exquisite woodcarving techniques. However, few people know that it has also been hailed by the Bai people as the home of stone sculpture.
Local artisans are particularly apt at making stone lions. Today, this unique craftsmanship has been passed on to the younger generations.
