Int’l mountain-bike race concludes in Lijiang

The final stage of the 2025 Towards the Mountains-Lijiang Mountain Bike Race was held on the northern foothills of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from October 18 to 19.

The final stage of the 2025 Towards the Mountains-Lijiang Mountain Bike Race kicks off on October 18.

The event gathered 509 elite riders from China, Russia, the UK, Morocco, Moldova, and Thailand. They engaged in a two-day extreme competition on the snowy plateau at an altitude of 2,800 meters.

The first day featured a 28-kilometer ancient trail in Yuhu village. With a total ascent of 470 meters, the route tested the riders' bike-controlling skills on gravel and sharp bends.

The second day's 40-kilometer course involved mountains, rivers, and old towns. With an 850-meter elevation difference, the route was a mix of wet soil, gravel path, and meadow trail.

Sports-related consumption in the final stage exceeded 17.1 million yuan, with the overall economic value reaching 63.27 million yuan.

Before the final stage, the 2025 Towards the Mountains series had completed its first two races at the lakes of Chenghai and Lugu in Lijiang. Over 1,100 international riders participated in the biking series.
