LatAm journalists look into Chinese wisdom in protecting Yunnan lake

An international interviewing tour under the 2025 Media Cooperation Forum on Belt and Road took place in central Yunnan’s Kunming city on September 19.

18 journalists from nine Latin American (LatAm) countries—Uruguay, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, El Salvador, Peru, Chile, and Colombia—visited the Dianchi Lake Blue-Green Algae Harvesting and Disposal Service Project, undertaken by China Communications Construction Company.

They explore the largest "algae-water co-treating" platform in China.

Through on-site visits, interviews, discussions, and interactive exchanges, the journalists gained an in-depth understanding of the Yunnan efforts to manage blue-green algae in the Dianchi Lake, as well as Chinese wisdom and solutions for protecting the lake ecosystem.
