Lijiang airport sees monthly passenger flow exceed 1 million

Passengers have check-ins at northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang Sanyi International Airport.

The monthly passenger throughput at northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang Sanyi International Airport reached 1.033 million in July, surpassing the one-million mark for the first time.

Notably, the Lijiang airport handled 240 flights on July 2, and then it served 36,000 passengers on July 31—both setting new records in terms of its daily operation.

 

The chart shows Lijiang has flights to 93 Chinese cities and 8 destinations in neighboring countries.  

From January to July, the airport recorded a total of 36,242 aircraft movements, 4.937 million passengers, and 8,798.7 tons of cargo and mail.

The passenger throughput and cargo/mail volume increased by 3.7% and 10.8% year on year, respectively.

During the same period, the airport handled 680 international flights and 70,600 international passengers, representing year-on-year rises of 16.2% and 19.8%.

Demand for flights to South and Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam in particular, remains strong, with the cross-border tourist market showing steady growth.
