Lijiang yams favored by consumers
The organic yam grown in Rehe village of Yongsheng county, northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang city, has been favored by consumers in the Yunnan cities like Kunming and Dali, as well as by diners in the cities of neighboring provinces.

“My family grow about six Chinese acres of yam annually, with the per-acre output value exceeding 10,000 yuan. The yam sells well both within and outside Yunnan province,” said Zhao Chunhua, a yam farmer in Rehe.
At the Guge villagers’ group in Rehe, 140 households have increased income through yam cultivation. Currently, Rehe Village boasts some 100 restaurants specializing in yam-based cuisine.
