Lijiang girl goes viral in Milan, Italy

Hetian, a Naxi girl-student from northeast Yunnan’s Lijiang city, saw her friend's phone snatched in the metro in Milan, Italy. She bravely took the lead in chasing the thief and assisted security guards in catching him.

Later, she and her friends returned to thank the metro security team wearing traditional Chinese clothing, presenting a silk banner and gifts to local police, along with a Dongba-script couplet reading: “People’s Guardian, Thief’s Nemesis.”

Her story quickly went viral among Chinese and international netizens—and was even featured in the Milano Today.
