The mansion was originally the seat of power for the hereditary Naxi chieftains of Lijiang. With its foundation laid during the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368), Mu Mansion flourished in the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). It not only embodies the Ming architectural elegance in central China but also preserves the ancient architectural charm of the Tang (618–907) and Song (960–1279) dynasties.
In 2024, the GDP of Yunnan’s ethnic autonomous regions reached 1.2 trillion yuan, 2.2 times that of 2015. By the end of 2024, the per capita disposable income of residents in the border villages and communities hit 22,488 yuan—5,038 yuan higher than the provincial rural average.
Guided by the principle of "forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation," Yunnan fostered deeper exchanges, mutual understanding, and integration among its ethnic groups. Through building close friendships, fostering harmonious neighborly relations, and forming marital bonds, Yunnan ethnic groups are increasingly interconnected, blending into a shared tapestry of unity.
