730,000 ASEAN nationals cross Mohan port in 2024
More than 730,000 people from 10 ASEAN countries crossed the Mohan rail and road border gates in South Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna Prefecture last year. Among them were approximately 6,500 cross-border tour groups, totaling over 65,000 people.

Mohan is China's only national-level land port to Laos and a key hub for China-ASEAN economic exchanges. It is directly connected to Vientiane via the China-Laos Railway and extends south to Bangkok by road.
As the China-Laos Railway’s role as a "golden corridor" becomes increasingly prominent, the Mohan rail gate has emerged as China's most efficient customs clearance hub. It is also experiencing the fastest cargo growth. In addition, it serves as the largest railway port connecting to ASEAN.
Since February 10, the 144-hour visa-free policy for ASEAN tourist groups entering Xishuangbanna has been in effect. To ensure its smooth implementation, Mohan has shared tourist information with qualified local travel services, while optimizing customs clearance for greater efficiency.
