This is Dali | Episode 33: Xiangyun hairy tofu

The hairy tofu is a traditional specialty snack in Xiangyun county, west Yunnan’s Dali Bai autonomous prefecture. Naturally fermented, it is covered with fine, dense fuzz.

When deep-fried, the tofu gets crispy, flavorful, and unique in texture. This snack evokes a sense of nostalgia in local residents, emerging as a must-try delicacy for visitors to Xiangyun.
