Early winter sees buffalo-egret harmony in Menglian, Pu'er

In early winter, the lingering warmth of late autumn still hovers over the fields, as if time has slowed down its pace.

Beside a rice paddy in Menglian Dai, Lahu, and Va autonomous county, southwest Yunnan’s Pu'er city, a water buffalo rests quietly, leisurely chewing on tender grass.

A flock of snowy-white egrets seem to be very happy with the giant—Sometimes they stand still on the buffalo’s body, sometimes they take a flight nearby.

The buffalo and the egrets complement each other in a scene of natural harmony, forming an idyllic picture that awakens a deep sense of nostalgia.
