S.W. Ramyasiri, a guardian of the traditional stilt fishing technique in Sri Lanka, has refused to engage in illegal fishing. He and his forefathers have kept the tradition for three generations.

By insisting on the traditional way, they helped in protecting maritime fishery resources. To him, fishes in the sea are like wealth at home. What he safeguards is not only a tradition but also a belief in coexisting with the ocean.
