With improved quality, Yunnan coffee beans have been recognized by coffee professionals worldwide. Whether they’re international giants or local coffee start-ups, they see Yunnan coffee beans as a must choice.

"In the future, Yunnan coffee beans will undoubtedly represent Chinese coffee on the global stage," said Wang Xu, assistant to the President of Manner Coffee Manner Coffee.

"When it comes to China in the future, people will say that Chinese tea is great, and so is Chinese coffee," echoed Tong Yalun, director of Starbucks Yunnan Center for Supporting Growers.

In the fields of fashion, skincare, cuisine, and even arts, Yunnan coffee beans are increasingly visible, becoming part and parcel of many special products.

Coffee element in fashion

What will happen when coffee meets intangible cultural heritages?

During the 8th China-South Asia Expo held in Kunming in July 2024, the coffee-yarn brocade made a hit in the coffee industry pavilion. The coffee brocade comes from Banmu village of Ximeng Wa autonomous county, southwest Yunnan’s Pu'er city.

Here, the yarn made from coffee grounds is used to produce clothing, towels, and others. The products resist oxidation, control odor and dry quickly, and they are highly favored by consumers.

Coffee fused into daily life

On the slab-paved streets of the Ancient Tea-Horse Town, you'll discover that coffee isn't just a treat for the taste buds—it can also be transformed into fine accessories.

The accessories can be coffee hairpins, earrings, or bracelets. Blending creativity into daily aesthetics, the designers allowed the customers to dive into a classic yet trendy dream inspired by coffee.

Coffee pasted on faces

Coffee has entered the skincare field, becoming a new favorite. Chinese anti-aging skincare brand HBN has rolled out an eye cream with Yunnan coffee. The cream was praised by consumers after its debut and it even topped the bestsellers.

Coffee blended into arts

With brushes and brown coffee, Pu'er-born artist Ma Li created paintings that exude the "aroma of coffee."

Brown coffee is perfect for expressing nostalgic themes. The paintings evoke a sense of time-wornness, reminiscent of old photos. The coffee liquid creates mottled textures in the artwork, like memories left behind by time.

Coffee-turned dishes

In Yongde county, southwest Yunnan’s Lincang city, the local Dai people love drinking coffee. By adding coffee leaves, flowers, and beans to their dishes, they also created a "coffee feast."

Each dish at the "coffee feast" has a unique flavor of coffee, offering ultimate joy to the taste buds.
