China-Cambodia ICH day marked in Siem Reap

The "Tea for Harmony" Cultural Salon and the China-Cambodia "Glorious Silk Road" Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Theme Day event was held at the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport in Cambodia on September 27.

The event exhibits 100 photographs and 50 exquisite ICH items, showcasing the traditional skills of weaving, embroidery and tie-dye in China's Yunnan province and Cambodia. The exhibition will last for three months.

Through on-site demonstrations and ICH-skill experiencing at the China-Cambodia Cultural Corridor in the airport, the event was appealing to thousands of international passengers who stopped to admire the pictures and the ICH items.

While traditional Chinese and Cambodian dances delighted the passengers, Yunnan tourism brochures were distributed on-site, inviting more international visitors to the province for its many-splendored lifestyle.

Since its inauguration at the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport in August 2024, the China-Cambodia Cultural Corridor has attracted the attention and participation of over one million international passengers, emerging as a window to showcase Chinese and Cambodian culture and promote people-to-people connections.

Guided by Publicity Department of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, the event was hosted by Yunnan International Communications Center for South and Southeast Asia, Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Cambodian Siem Reap Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts, Yunnan Aviation Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd., among others.
