UN under-secretary-general addresses Global South media forum

In a video address to the opening ceremony, Melissa Fleming, the United Nations under-secretary-general for global communications, called for joint efforts to enhance global sustainability and intercultural exchanges, restore balance to the global information ecosystem, and incorporate integrity into the online public sphere.

Melissa Fleming did this at the Global South Media and Think Tank Forum 2025 that is going on in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province. About 500 representatives from more than 260 institutions across 110 countries, as well as international and regional organizations, took part.
