Yunnan sports delegation shows up at the opening of China’s 15th National Games in Guangzhou.
Yunnan Provincial Sports Delegation showcased on Nov 9 the high spirits of Yunnan's athletes at the opening ceremony of China's 15th National Games, which was held in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province.
The 15th National Games, jointly hosted by Guangdong province and the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions from Sunday through Nov 21, mark the first time in Chinese sports history that three regions co-host a major national event.

For this ongoing 13-day National Games, the Yunnan delegation has a total of 762 persons participating in both competitive and mass sports events, and they include 555 athletes, 207 coaches and other staff members.
279 Yunnan athletes have qualified for the finals, competing in 19 major events and 129 sub-events, representing a 20% increase compared to the 14th National Games. The Yunnan delegation features 82 athletes from 15 ethnic minority groups.
Yunnan province is trying to be a sports training sanctuary on the highland, a paradise outdoor sports lovers, and an events park all year round.
