Apple-harvesting event begins in Ninglang, Lijiang

Apples are ripe for picking in Ninglang Yi autonomous county, northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang city.
The 2025 Ninglang Farmers' Harvest Festival and the Third Apple Season kicked off in Xinyingpan township of Ninglang Yi autonomous county, northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang city, on October 22.
With an average altitude of 2,700 meters, Xinyingpan boasts a unique climate, abundant sunlight, and a pristine environment. It is one of the most ecologically-optimal regions for apple growing in the world.

The 3-day event features apple-picking experiences, agricultural product exhibitions and ethnic cultural performances, allowing tourists and farmers to enjoy the natural beauty and local folk customs.
By the end of 2024, the apple cultivation area in Ninglang reached 69,100 mu (approximately 4,607 hectares), with an output value of 294 million yuan. The apple industry has increased income for local farmers.
