6th games for Lancang-Mekong college students going on in Yunnan

The 6th Lancang-Mekong College Students' Goodwill Games, also the 8th South and Southeast Asia College Students' Culture and Sports Week, opened on October 20 in central Yunnan’s Kunming city.

The 6th Lancang-Mekong College Students' Goodwill Games kicks off on October 20 in central Yunnan’s Kunming city.

This sports event and cultural week brought together nearly 1,000 teachers and students from 33 universities across 28 countries, including China, Bangladesh, Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

Myanmar consul general in Kunming Thwin Htet Lin, Lao consul general in Kunming Pongdong Paxaphacdy, and other consular officials from the neighboring countries attended the opening ceremony.

 

The 13th Lancang-Mekong cultural and arts festival is held in early October in south Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna.  

The sports event features football, volleyball, badminton, and martial arts. Championships, second places, and third places will be awarded in men's football, men's volleyball, women's volleyball, and martial arts.

Diverse cultural activities have been arranged for the event. Young people from the neighboring countries will facilitate cultural communication by showcasing their traditional cultures and arts.
