Leading company drives growth of apple industry in Zhaoyang

A dwarf-dense apple plantation in Zhaoyang district, northeast Yunnan’s Zhaotong city

Following the idea of high standards and high efficiency, the Zhaoyang district in northeast Yunnan’s Zhaotong city introduced the Chaoyue Agriculture Co., Ltd. to boost its apple industry over the past years.

As a nationally leading enterprise, the company has established some 100,000-mu (6666.7 ha) dwarf and dense plantations across the towns of Yongfeng, Buga and Shouwang in the district.

 

A local farmer is busy with daily maintenance at the plantation.

A post-harvest sorting line with a capacity of processing 20 tons of apples per hour was built up, together with a cold-storage warehouse with a capacity of 40,000 tons.

The practices extended the industrial chain and set an example for the large-scale development of the apple industry. Local farmers have earned more income by working near their homes.
