As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, a unique festive air fills the Yunnan Wildlife Park in Kunming. A "wild man" from the "Wakaka" online community brought mooncakes with wild vegetables to the wild animals.

“The "wild man" delivering mooncakes to herbivores is an innovative activity to mark the coming Mid-Autumn Festival, and our practice aims to convey the concept of "harmonious coexistence between man and nature," said a staff at the park's marketing department.

She added the "wild man" carries the idea of returning to and respecting for nature, while the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes reunion and harmony. The park staff hoped that through such activity, visitors could feel the joyful connection between humans and animals.

Before the activity, a recruitment for so-called "wild men" at Yunnan Wildlife Park has captivated Chinese social media: If you are “unwilling to go to work, feeling a lot of stress, and full of wildness", do not hesitate to join us. The temporary roles ran from Sept 27 to 29, and five "wild men" are expected to be on duty each day from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, earning 500 yuan ($70) per day.
