YaoCanSee: China-Bangladesh youth show unity for progress at coffee talk
The Harbors Tonight – Beyond Coffee Youth Talk was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on September 18 local time, for the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh, as well as the China-Bangladesh year for people-to-people exchanges.
Guided by Information Office and Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, the event was organized by Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia.
The Harbors Tonight – Beyond Coffee Youth Talk takes place in Dhaka, Bangladesh on September 18.
Some 100 personages from the governments, media, education, healthcare, overseas Chinese communities, and cultural exchange sectors of China and Bangladesh gathered together, with youth serving as a bridge to further the friendship between the two countries.
Under the theme of "The Power of Youth," several attendees shared insights from their respective fields. Huang Wenyan, secretary-general of the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh recalled her 15 years of work and life in Bangladesh; Hasan Shahriar, a staff from Chittagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College, talked about the China-Bangladesh friendship in healthcare cooperation.

Jahangir, member of the Bangladesh-China Center for Cultural, Economic, and Mass Exchanges spoke on the Bangladesh youth's involvement in political, entrepreneurial, and volunteer activities; Zhao Shibo, vice president of the Youth Committee of the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh, discussed on how to appreciate and embrace global diversity.
Arif Mahmud, news editor of the Independent Television in Bangladesh, analyzed the challenges in media development and how to make breakthroughs through international cooperation; and Sinthia Zaman Alif, a student at the Confucius Institute of North South University, recounted her journey of learning Chinese online.
