The opening featured a cultural performance by the ethnic groups of Wa, Dai, Yi, and Lahu. The performance displayed traditional ethnic costumes and folk dances, showcasing the fusion of traditional art and modern technology and demonstrating the vitality of Lincang’s cultural heritages.
Robots clad in ethnic costumes interacted with the on-site audience, while hundreds of drones lit up the night sky to form patterns of the Chinese loong and the logo of overseas Chinese associations. The performance shows the intangible cultural heritage is not just memories confined to ancient texts; it is a language that connects the world.
