Yunnan starts cultural activities for Chinese new year

For the forthcoming Chinese new year, or Spring Festival, Yunnan province launched cultural activities of intangible relics in central Yunnan’s Kunming on January 23.

The series of activities will last for more than 20 days. 16 prefectures/cities in the province will stage more than 230 cultural performances and folk activities with local characteristics.

Among them, Yunnan Ethnic Village will present the traditional folk activities of Jingpo, Hani, Lisu and other ethnic groups from January 29 to February 4.

The activities of Yunnan Opera and lantern shows, will also be staged one after another at business districts, squares and other public places.
