Kunming airport handles 2.97 mln int'l travelers in 2024

Central Yunnan’s Kunming Changshui International Airport serviced 2.97 million cross-border travelers via 23,000 international flights over the past year, up by 136.42% and 91.41% respectively.

In 2024, the number of foreign tourists entering and leaving Kunming airport reached 860,000. Among them, 289,000 entered the country visa-free, increasing by 863%.

Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore are the top three sources of international tourists at Kunming airport, contributing 123,000 tourists, 96,000 tourists and 43,000 visitors.

More than 1.98 million residents from the Chinese mainland traveled to other countries and regions via Kunming airport, up 121.95% year on year. The most-visited destinations are Thailand, Singapore and China’s Hongkong.
