Yunnan is 2nd largest durian importer in China

According to data from Kunming Customs, in the first half of this year, Yunnan province imported 151,000 tons of durians, marking a 27.6% year-on-year increase. The import value reached 5.03 billion yuan, up 24.3% compared to the previous year.

Among these, 92,000 tons of durians were imported from Thailand, with an import value of 3.43 billion yuan, ranking Yunnan second nationwide. Additionally, 59,000 tons of durians were imported from Vietnam, with an import value of 1.6 billion yuan, making Yunnan the top importer from Vietnam in the country.

The data also reveals thatYunnan's share of national durian imports has significantly increased since the opening of the China-Laos Railway. Yunnan rose from fifth place nationwide in 2021to second place this year.
