Villagers in Menglian receive avocado bonus

The Investment and Production Group in southwest China Yunnan’s Pu’er city just held the 2023 dividend conference for the avocado harvest.

Villagers from 10 groups in Nuodong village received a total of over 1.06 million yuan in dividend from their equity shares, with the highest household receiving 39,533 yuan.

"My family invested about 2 hectares of land for avocado cultivation, and this year our dividend payment is 10,866 yuan," said Ma Guo happily, a villager.

Zha'er, head of the group's Gongxin Township office and also an avocado manager for the agricultural cooperative, is in charge of the avocado plantation.

"I manage a 201.7-hectare avocado base, earning about 50,000 yuan a year in management fees,” said Zha’er, “and I will continue to improve the management.”
