Appreciating flowers and eating fresh fruits is a summer routine for those living in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province. Here, you may also meet squirrels in parks. And they sometimes enjoy high tea with locals.

Leaping and running on the branches, squirrels in Cuihu Park are living happily in the trees. They sometime run towards visitors with foods in hand and look at you with those innocent eyes asking for a share of your food. People really like them.

In the park, many citizens will feed the squirrels snacks like melon seeds, peanuts and walnuts. On seeing the nuts in people’s hand, squirrels will climb down to eat them. A man feeding them said that these little creatures were smart as they often get close to those who are friendly to them.

What’s more, the squirrels often go into a café in the park to enjoy some drinks and foods. If you are sitting at the yard of the café with milk tea, cakes and waffles on table, you may see the squirrels coming down from the tree to grab a bite or take a sip from your glass.

“I wasn’t expecting to see the squirrels in the café. It is really surprising,” said Li happily, a customer, “and I feel touched because the human and animals are living harmoniously.”
