Baoshan hosts int’l conference on coffee industry

The 2nd International Conference on the Development of Specialty Coffee Industry was held in west Yunnan’s Baoshan city from December 3 to 6. Baoshan is a major coffee producer in China.

A total of 68 guests from 23 countries and more than 350 international coffee enterprises and institutions attended the conference, with their topics focusing on the present and future of the coffee industry.

In discussing the latest coffee studies and technical progress, the event attendees hoped to build a win-win platform, where businesses, cafes, coffee plantations, farmers and equipment manufacturers can jointly improve the fine-coffee industrial chain.

A number of coffee-agency agreements, as well as 10 cooperation agreements and investment projects were signed at the meeting. Four scholars shared their thoughts on coffee brand creation, product innovation and technological support, and nine entities promoted their fine-coffee brands.

The event was jointly organized by Yunnan Federation of Industry and Commerce, Yunnan Foreign Affairs Office, and Baoshan municipal Party committee and government.
