Supported by the information office of west Yunnan's Dali government and other local departments, the meeting is jointly hosted by the China Center for International Communication Development, the European Times cultural media group (Guang Hua Cultures et Media) and the France-China association for environmental protection culture (TESFEC association).
Wang Linjie, head of the TESFEC association, speaks at the meeting.
As a cultural event for the 60th anniversary of China-France ties, this meeting aims to further exchange of China-France experiences in environmental protection and sustainable development, building a platform for bilateral enterprises, industry associations and think tanks to carry out exchanges and pragmatic cooperation.
Wang Linjie, head of the TESFEC association, said that as maritime countries with great biodiversity, China and France share responsibilities for common development. “We should respect nature, protect biodiversity and adopt nature-based solutions to problems. The association has been committed to promoting China-France dialogue and cooperation in ecology and sustainability, and we’re willing to join hands with all parties to build a sustainable future.”

Zhao Guolong, director of the Dali’s Erhai Lake managing bureau, said Erhai is the seventh largest lake in China. In recent years, Dali prefecture has been putting into practice Chinese president Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization.
“Taking hills, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasses and sands as an integral whole, Dali established a responsibility system for environmental protection. With the government taking the lead, enterprises serving as the main stays and other parties involved, Erhai Lake has been put under effective protection,” Zhao added.
