Baoshan invites guests to harvest festival for many-splendored life

Yang Jun, secretary of southwest Yunnan’s Baoshan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, sent his sincere invitation on visiting Baoshan city to guests from all walks of life on September 21, one day ahead of the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival.

The press conference is held in southwest Yunnan's Longling county on Sept. 21.

Yang conveyed his invitation at a press conference at the grain-museum square in the Nonggang village, Baoshan’s Longling county, and the news event was titled “a many-splendored Yunnan life in Baoshan.”

“The many-splendored Yunnan life is not only our praise for Yunnan’s natural and cultural charm, but also the sense of gain, happiness, and satisfaction that ordinary Yunnan people have felt from the practice of the Chinese modernization,” noted Yang.

By embarking on a spontaneous autumn trip to Baoshan, Yang added, tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique harvest scene, a distinct harvest mood, a different harvest flavor, and a distinct harvest charm.

The Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival is not only a celebration for hundreds of millions of farmers to rejoice in and showcase their harvests, but also a festival for the whole society to enjoy the harvest and boost rural income. This year, Baoshan serves as Yunnan’s main venue to celebrate the national harvest festival.

Baoshan city has been committed to high-quality and efficient agriculture, creating livable rural environment and enriching local farmers. Amidst the aroma of ripening rice, a vibrant tapestry of happy life unfolds in Baoshan, depicting a bountiful harvest brought about by the diligent farmers.

The city is also a major producer of coffee, tea, dendrobium, walnuts, fruits and vegetables in Yunnan province. In the first half of 2024, Baoshan achieved a total output value of 15.265 billion yuan in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, an increase of 3.4%. Rural tourism developed fast, bringing extra income to local farmers.
