China, Myanmar have sports exchange for the disabled

The 2024 ‘Belt and Road’ China-Myanmar Rehabilitation and Sports Exchange for the Disabled was held in west Yunnan’s border town of Ruili on October 15.

Jointly hosted by Yunnan Disabled Persons' Federation, Yunnan Province Sports Bureau, Dehong Prefectural Government and Myanmar Consulate General in Kunming, the event gathered over 300 disabled persons from China and Myanmar, and 142 of them participated in basketball, table tennis, badminton, rope skipping and other games.

10 prosthetic limbs, 15 hearing AIDS and 100 wheelchairs were donated to Myanmar during the exchange, with operational tips provided on-site for those in need. On the same day, the China-Myanmar cultural performance, the disabled people's art show, the labor skills exhibition, and the Dai medical products display were also staged.

Prior to the sports exchange for the disabled, Ruili had also hosted the China-Myanmar international marathon, the "heart to heart" China-Myanmar youth exchanges and others, injecting new vigor into the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
