China-France joint film screened in Yunnan
A film screening session for the French scientific documentary named “Peking Man: The Last Secrets of Mankind” took place on October 16 at Yunnan University based in central Yunnan's Kunming city.

With the original name of l'homme de Pékin - Les derniers secrets de l'humanité, the film was finished by French director Jacques Malaterre in 2023, and later co-produced by the media organizations from both China and France, including the China Media Group (CMG), France Télévisions as well as compagnie 10.7 Productions.
This film, based on the latest scientific discoveries, demonstrates how early human beings from millions of years ago have evolved throughout time on the land of China. It brings the audience back to the dawn of human history, going through several milestones of our ancestors, such as the birth of language, discovery of fire, as well as use of wooden and stone tools.
The film screening session
Over 200 Chinese actors, actresses and film professionals have been involved in the production of this documentary.
Director Jacques Malaterre and the lead Gong Menglin attended the screening session and shared stories behind the scenes.
As an essential part of the 2024 Franco-Chinese Month of Environment, this film screening and discussion session was hosted by the Alliance Française of Kunming, under the support of Consulate General of France in Chengdu.

The film screening session
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-France diplomatic relations. The two countries also celebrate China-France Year of Culture and Tourism.
A number of other events relating to this year’s Franco-Chinese Month of Environment, such as lectures, art shows and food workshops, will also be held by the Alliance Française of Kunming.
