Pu'er writer attends kids' literature event in Nepal
Li Mengwei, a children's literature writer from southwest Yunnan's Pu'er city, was invited to Nepalese capital Kathmandu for the first International Children's Literature Conference from September 20 to 21, allowing Yunnan culture to be better appreciated by audience in south Asia.

During the meeting, Li talked about the writers' group, the defining features and the representative works of Yunnan children's literature, highlighting Yunnan’s ethnic cultures and their fusing into world literature.
Li told the story of Pu'er tea culture and Jingmai Mountain's application for the status as a World Heritage site, and her wonderful narration won high praise from her international peers who gave a big applause in return.

In Nepal Academy, Li and her international peers (literature scholars, editors, illustrators, publishers and librarians) deliberated and adopted the Declaration of the International Children's Literature Conference, promising to make joint efforts for the development of children's literature.
Li has devoted herself to creating children's literature for decades, and her works popular among kids include "The Sunshine Boundless", "Songs under the Starry Sky" and others.
