Tran Thi Quynh: I sing for Vietnam-China friendship
“Hills are linked to each other;
Rivers meet with one another.
The hills and rivers are picturesque,
Who’s fascinated by the picture?”
“Natural music is for friends;
I’m enchanted at flower scent.
Flowers will bloom at my music;
The future will be the best.”
The lyrics above are sung by Tran Thi Quynh, a 28-year-old Vietnamese singer who has worked in south Yunnan’s border county of Hekou for ten years. “My friends in China love me and Vietnamese songs a lot. As a Vietnamese, I feel very proud,” said Quynh.

Quynh added that Hekou is a wonderful place where people work hard, and local tourism is well-developed. “While inviting my Chinese friends to Lao Cai for tours, I often visit Mengzi and Jianshui in south Yunnan. Jianshui is frequented by tourists for its fresh air and sound facilities.”
“Through work and travel in Yunnan, I fell in love with local food, noticed the biodiversity in the province, and improved my living standard,” said Quynh, hoping that Vietnamese and Chinese could be good friends and partners for ever.
