The cultural event opening was attended by Zeng Yan, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Maung Maung Ohn, Minister of Information, Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Zeng Yan said that next year marks the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar. At this backdrop, activities during the China-Myanmar Cultural Exchange Week are conducive to the Belt and Road cooperation, and they put into practice the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the idea of the Human Community of Shared Future.
Zeng hoped that by holding these activities, the two countries could further pool consensus, beef up the friendly foundation and carry forward the Paukphaw friendship. “Yunnan will inject new vigor into the China-Myanmar community of shared future by encouraging more media outlets, educational institutions, culture entities, businesses and others to participate in China-Myanmar cultural exchanges,” Zeng added.
