The 2024 China Industrial Transfer and Development Matchmaking Activities (Yunnan) took place in central Yunnan’s Kunming city on September 8. The event brought together academicians, experts, representatives from universities and industry associations, and over 1,300 key enterprises to seek new development opportunities.
With the theme of "Sharing New Benefits of Industrial Transfer, Building New Height for International Cooperation", the event aimed to promote industrial transfer as a key strategy for driving new-type industrialization and emphasizing industrial development.

The focus is to create a more attractive environment for industrial transfer, a more dynamic border openness, and an important platform for receiving industrial transfer.
Several key industrial projects were signed at the opening. Four provincial-ministerial thematic matchmaking events were held for bio-pharmaceuticals, photovoltaics, information industries and border industrial parks, together with nine provincial-prefectural sub-events for equipment manufacturing, green aluminum and other industries.
Wang Ning, secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, said Yunnan is actively embracing the trend of industrial migration, leading to economic growth, stronger resource advantages, solid industrial support, and unprecedented opportunities.

Yunnan's strategic position from a regional perspective
The province aims to enhance the cooperations between eastern and western Chinese regions, among the Chinese provinces and between central and local governments, in a bid to develop its resource-based economy, industrial park economy, and port economy. Yunnan welcomes domestic and foreign enterprises to seize these opportunities.
"Through deepening open cooperation, we’ll support Yunnan in enhancing the border region’s function of internal and external connection, building a major international information channel connecting South and Southeast Asia, constructing a development pattern for border industrial parks, and creating a new height for border openness," said Jin Zhuanglong, Chinese minister of industry and information technology.
Wang Yubo, governor of Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, added that industrial transfer is backed by major Chinese national policies, collaborative efforts from ministries, provinces, municipalities, and enterprises, along with Yunnan's unique strengths. "This is a time of opportunity, advantage and prosperity," he noted.
