Yunnan enterprises resume work, production

Having spent a merry Spring Festival, diverse enterprises across Yunnan province resumed their work and production one after another.

In south Yunnan’s Kaiyuan modern agricultural park, workers are busy picking flowers. In the flower packaging workshop, workers are arranging potted flowers and fresh cut flowers.

"We resumed our work as early as the second day of the Chinese lunar new year, and now 80% of the employees have arrived at their posts,” said Ma Lin, head of the flower base.

The agricultural park finished the orders for 700,000 flowers before the Spring Festival holiday, and the order volume after the holiday are expected to reach some 500,000 flowers per month.

At the construction site of Simao Biomedical Industrial Park in southwest Yunnan’s Pu'er city, workers have been pushing forward the project since the fifth day of the lunar new year.

"On the tenth day (Feb. 19), some 80 workers were busy at the construction site. Together with the on-site persons for management and logistics support, nearly 100 have arrived at the site," said Li Jun, head of the construction site.

Following the Spring Festival, major enterprises in southeast Yunnan’s Guangnan county also resumed production. In the new material factory of Yunnan Muli Antimony Industry Co., Ltd., skillful workers are operating rumbling machines, and production lines are running fast.

"This is the last step to pack up antimony trioxide. Since the resumption of production on Feb. 18, daily output of the factory has been 8 tons of antimony trioxide," said Huang Zhenghong, deputy director of the new material factory.

Guangnan’s Yunzhixiang company is testing a brand-new production line with a daily output of 150 tons of rice. Li Wei, manager of the firm’s e-commerce department, said the output of the production line is estimated to reach 150 tons per day by mid-March.
