The 16th Thai Festival kicked off on April 22 in central Yunnan’s Kunming city, and it will run until April 26.
This year's festival features 59 standard booths and 2 special booths, bringing Thai cuisine, exquisite handicrafts, trendy farments, and Muay Thai to Kunming residents.
At the opening, Muay Thai fighters took the stage, drawing gasps from the audience with their powerful punches and elbow strikes. Later, actors staged graceful Thai dance.

At the TOY WORLD booth, colorful inflatable bags caught the attention of many young people. The company's export manager said their products have been at the China-South Asia Expo several times, but this is their first time participating in the Thai Festival in Kunming.
Bhavivarn Noraphallop, consul general of Thailand in Kunming, said that the festival has been a bridge connecting Thailand with China over the past two decades. It promotes Thai specialties and increases bonds between the peoples.
